"Uncommon Threads" - Saratoga Springs specializes in warm wool mittens. The process of "Upcycling" is used to refashion wool clothing items (sweaters, jackets, pants, skirts) into warm attractive wool mittens. Mittens are primarily wool, are fully lined and are one size fits all. All fabric is sanitized prior to reconstruction. The designing and craftmanship is done by me, Barbara Hefter.
Everything has its own story ... even Mittens. Recycling, reusing and repurposing materials are sound environmental practices to which I am committed. My mittens originally had varied backgrounds and have ended up as one-of-a-kind creations of wearable softness and warmth.
